This qualification reflects the role of individuals who diagnose, analyse, evaluate, design and modify vehicle systems in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.


This qualification provides a pathway to work as an Advanced Diagnostic Technician who may work at the forefront of the implementation of new technologies.



Entry requirements

Individuals entering this qualification must have completed an automotive Certificate IV qualification (AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or AUR40816 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling) or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency


All students must be 18 years of age or over and international students must have a minimum IELTS band 5.5 or equivalent. This course is offered to both international and domestic students.
